Mark your calendars for August 22nd!!! This will be one of the most engaging and educational actions you can take as an organizer or concerned citizen. Come out for a night of food, drinks, and thinks at the Market Garden Brewery.
Indivisible CLE and Sierra Club NEO proudly announce the line-up for the night:
1. Nicole Kron: Environmental Consultant, Activist, and Indivisible CLE Member
2. Cheryl Johncox: Beyond Dirty Fuels Organizer for the Sierra Club-Ohio Chapter and a 2012 Democratic candidate for District 86 of the Ohio House of Representatives
3. Jocelyn Travis: Cleveland Ready for 100 Campaign Coordinator
4. Lois Bower Bjornson: Community Organizer from Washington Co. PA., mother of four living in the epicenter of shale gas development in the eastern United States.
We will end the night off by breaking up into two brainstorming groups. One discussing divestment actions and the other working on getting cities across Ohio to sign on to phase in environmentally friendly policies.
What do you know about the oil and fracking industry in Ohio? For the past few years there has been greater attention paid to the means through which the fracked gas we use gets transported. Ohio is mostly fracked gas and that is what the pipelines transpot.
Our panel will demystify pipelines and break down the realities of what is happening in our backyards in Ohio. You will leave that night feeling empowered. By being there you will gather the tools to form a more educated opinion/stance on the topic and be able to inform others.
