This performance by the CIM Orchestra—conducted by Steven Smith—will bring to life Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Melinda Wagner’s catalog of works. Her piece titled Little Moonhead will be performed, featuring violin faculty member Joan Kwuon, as well as her work, Proceed, Moon. The title Proceed, Moon was inspired by Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream. These pieces will take you on beautifully-constructed journeys and introduce you to rhythmically exuberant movements.
And, that's not all. The orchestra will commemorate Donald Erb (MM '53) and perform his piece, Evensong. Erb once noted, «Evensong is the most directly autobiographical work of my life although I believe that all music is to some extent autobiographical.» Mark your calendars and experience this thrilling piece live.
*This performance will take place in Kulas Hall; Admission is free and open to the public.
