INDUCTION: Tauba Auerbach and Eliane Radigue invites you to experience how vibration and flow can induce states of consciousness through paintings, glass sculptures, and a sound installation.
The Founder's Paradox: Simon Denny will present new sculptures, painting, and prints that reimagine popular board games to explore the idea of the «founder» in tech-business communities and the radical conservatism that has emerged from this sector.
Zigzags and Diagonals: Claudia Comte is a monumentally scaled, site-specific wall work on the Museum's ground floor, inaugurating MOCA's new Art Wall series in Gund Commons.
Mei-Jia & Ting-Ting & Chih-Fu & Sin-Ji: C. Spencer Yeh is a new sound work by the Brooklyn-based artist which explores singing voices based on the traditional Chinese performance of Kouji Kouji. Yeh will also perform his work RCA Mark II live at 8:00pm.

7:00pm | ARTIST TALK
Following a curatorial introduction to the season by Senior Curator Andria Hickey, artist Simon Denny reflects on the subjects and influences of his new work in The Founder’s Paradox.
8:00pm | C. SPENCER YEH: RCA MARK II
Experimental composer, musician, and visual artist C. Spencer Yeh gives a live quadraphonic performance of his 2017 LP RCA Mark II. RCA Mark II focuses on the mechanical sounds made by the once-groundbreaking RCA Mark II Electronic Music Synthesizer. In 1959, the Mark II was installed at the Columbia-Princeton Electronic Music Center at Columbia University, but it has not worked since 1997. Yeh’s 12-track LP captures acoustic sounds that Yeh made as he flipped switches, turned knobs, and plugged and unplugged cables on the machine. In this special opening night performance, Yeh, whose work also is exhibited in MOCA’s Stair A, creates a unique, one-of-a-kind live manipulation of these sounds.
