Screening at The Cleveland Institute of Art Feb 15: BIG Time is a filmic portrait taking you behind-the-mind and inside the personal life of Danish architect Bjarke Ingels (BIG). Stay for the special post-screening panel discussion hosted by AIA Cleveland.
Filmed over seven years and with over seventy hours of footage, Director Kaspar Astrup Schröder presents a new documentary about the dreams and ideas, struggles and conflicts, wins and losses, wishes and sacrifices – the intimate and authentic story of building buildings and an international architecture studio.
Bjarke Ingels started with a dream to become a cartoonist. Today, he is the Founder and Creative Director of the architectural practice BIG — Bjarke Ingels Group, designers of projects including 2 World Trade Center, Google’s headquarters and Mars Science City. Bjarke was named by Time magazine as “one of the 100 most influential people in the world today,” and recognized as an Architectural Innovator by the Wall Street Journal. BIG Time follows Bjarke from 2011 to 2016 in the journey of expanding the global firm, filling the void of the World Trade Center site and building a new office and personal life in New York City.
