Hey Vegans in the CLE! The countdown to St. Patrick’s Day 2018 is on!
Join the Cleveland Vegan Society on SATURDAY!, March 17, 2018, for the 176th Cleveland's St. Patrick's Day Parade, as we march as a group, creating awareness of veganism in Cleveland. Join us as we show our city and 500,000 + parade-goers that vegans are here and we are many!
Our parade unit will increase the visibility of vegans in CLE, intending to inspire the vegan-curious to seek more information, to motivate local businesses to become vegan-friendly, to increase awareness of Cleveland VegFest, to encourage current vegans to connect with Cleveland Vegan Society, and to reach out to other vegans in the community.
We will hold the Cleveland Vegan Society banner and carry individual signs with positive vegan messages.
We have already started planning, so be sure to save the date and make plans to march with our unit in the parade!
Invite all your vegan friends, even those who live out of town or out of state!
Details will be posted as we get closer to the day, but our uniform will be the Nonviolence United (NU) Vegan Compassion t-shirt or sweatshirt in black, along with your fun, wacky, sparkly, green, Irish parade accessories, like hats, wigs, face paint, and jewelry!
If you do not have the NU shirt or sweatshirt in black yet, get yours at the links below.
When ordering, keep in mind that these shirts or sweatshirts are our uniform and must be visible, so they will be worn OVER your warm layers, so please choose your size accordingly.
If you are unable to purchase the required uniform shirt, don’t worry! We want every vegan to be able to participate, so all you need to do is wear a plain, solid black t-shirt or plain, solid black sweatshirt on the *outside* of your layers, and we will have the NU Vegan Compassion shirt logo stickers for you to affix to the front.

•We will meet at Artefino Cafe & Gallery, beginning at 10:30 AM on parade day for registration, hot drinks, great food, socializing, photos, and getting ourselves ready to march. We have a room reserved for us with a great view of the parade staging area, and it is only a short walk to our designated line-up location. Be sure to arrive hungry! I will post more details soon, including the vegan and gluten-free options they will have on offer for us.
Artefino is located inside the Tower Press Building at 1900 Superior Ave., Cleveland, OH 44114. There is parking directly behind their building, entering off of Superior Ave and E. 21st St. The lot will fill up early. There's also street parking in the area. Be aware that streets around the parade route and the parade staging area will be blocked to traffic at some point that morning, so try to get there as early as possible to avoid that difficulty. I strongly suggest carpooling, hiring a car service or taking public transportation.
•We will also gather AFTER the parade for food & drinks! We have a private room at Stonetown, with food by Helio Terra Vegan Cafe! HT’s classic St. Patrick's Day ALL VEGAN goodness combined with the full bar at Stonetown in the 668 Building promises to bring the SHENANIGANS! In addition to your rsvp to march in the parade, please be sure to rsvp on the Helio Terra event, so they are prepared for all that delicious vegan food we will need!
