The Musical Theater Project
5755 Granger Rd Ste 830, Independence, Ohio 44131
Think back to the moment when you knew for certain that you had grown up. It takes Joseph Taylor, Jr.—the soul-searching main character in Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Allegro—until he is 35 to get there. “Allegro” is a musical term meaning “lively,” and it’s a good word to describe his journey: one that leads Joe from his birth in small-town America to the big city and back again to his roots. This 1947 show is rarely performed, but in 2016 it was revived with great success in London. If you’re a fan of Rodgers & Hammerstein, you won’t want to miss their trailblazing musical play—the team’s third Broadway collaboration following Oklahoma! and Carousel.
Directed by Terri Kent | Music direction by Nancy Maier | Featuring Joe Monaghan and members of Kent State University’s Musical Theatre Program
The performance will begin with a brief multi-media presentation by Bill Rudman, Terri Kent, and Nancy Maier.
